European Commission still seeking mandate to negotiate new air services agreement with New Zealand

A press release issued on 26 June 2007 ahead of a visit to New Zealand by European Commissioner for External Affairs, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, notes that "The European Commission is seeking a negotiating mandate from EU Member States to open talks on a more ambitious air transport agreement that would fully liberalize air services between the EU and New Zealand."
